Dear University Community,
The newly elected Board of Trustees and Supervisory Committee of the Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation, the maintaining body of the University of Pécs, held their joint inaugural meeting on 8 September 2026, thereby beginning their work together. The mandate of the new Board of Trustees and Supervisory Committee covers the transition year, running until 1 August 2027.
The upcoming period carries special responsibility for both bodies. In our work, keeping the interests of the University of Pécs in mind, we attach paramount importance to the University's high-level educational and research performance, its autonomy, and its long-term operational and financial interests.
One of the defining tasks ahead of us is to review the Foundation's assets, contractual relationships, and operations, as well as to establish the foundation for decisions that may have a long-term impact on the University's future operations and assets. In these decision-making situations, the Board of Trustees considers it its duty to act with due care, weighing all available information and consistently keeping the University's best interests in mind.
We are aware that the period ahead involves many changes and open questions. For this reason, we intend to carry out our work responsibly, transparently, and in cooperation with the university community, bearing in mind all the values upon which the current performance and future development of the University of Pécs can be built.
We begin our work in full awareness of this responsibility, for the benefit of the University and all members of the university community. In this spirit, we will regularly provide information to the University community on the work of the Board of Trustees and the Supervisory Committee, as well as on key developments in the coming period, on the website of the Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation.
