2020.

A state of emergency has been reintroduced by the Hungarian Government due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. This means that the Government can take swift action in connection with the epidemiological situation based on the recommendations of the Operative Board.

A curfew between midnight and 5:00 am has been introduced. In this period, you can only leave your accommodation for work or in imminent danger (e.g. if there is a fire or an earthquake) and in self-defence situations (e.g. if a burlgar threatens your life).

Visiting events has also been restricted. Concerts and many other events can only be organized with strict seating plans. This means that every two seat must be left out in concerts, sports events, theatres, and cinemas in order to ensure adequate social distancing. Wearing a facemask is required in all kinds of events.

A protective distance of 1.5 metres must be maintained from others in libraries and museums.

Changes in the schedule of local public transport are also expected. More vehicles must be used in public transport in cities (relevant UP campuses: Pécs, Szekszárd, Szombathely, Zalaegerszeg, and Kaposvár) in rush hours (7:00 am to 9:00 am, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm). Public transport companies are required to prepare their plans for this by 5 November.

Parking is free-of-charge again.

Otherwise, strict facemask requirements are still in place.
